Getting help for your child: Resolving disputes, mediation and tribunals

Seminar for parents of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and service providers.

Hosted by Reading Families' Forum, this free event will inform you about SEND law and children's rights, dispute resolution and mediation.

Programme 

10am - 12 noon: Sinclairslaw, specialists in SEND law

  • What provision you can expect for your child
  • What parent carers can appeal
  • What can go to tribunal.

12.15 - 1pm: Lunch

1pm - 1.30pm: Dispute Resolution - Reading Information, Advice and Support Service (IASS) 

  • How IASS work with parent/carers to try and resolve disputes with education providers and/or the local authority.

 1.30pm - 2.15pm: Global mediation

  • Mediation. What is it and when it could help.

Complimentary refreshments and lunch provided. 

There is ample, free parking and easy bus links from Reading town centre on number 30 Greenlink bus.

Carers Rights Day 2018 Carers Rights Day

Come and join local organisations which support carers to mark Carers Rights Day, an event held each year to help you know your rights and find out how to get the help and support you are entitled to.

This event will give you a chance to meet other carers, find out useful information and enjoy a light lunch.

  • Boyes Turners Solicitors – Powers of Attorney
