Theatre Trip for Carers
Saturday 23 June
Carers are invited to let their hair down and join us for an outing to see Hairspray.
Thanks to funding from the Rank Foundation and Zurich Community Foundation we are
inviting carers to enjoy an outing to the New Theatre, Oxford to see the smash hit musical.
Welcome to the 60s where Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big hair and an even bigger heart, is
on a mission to follow her dreams. You Can’t Stop The Beat as she sets out to dance her way
onto national TV with The Nicest Kids In Town.
Please note: a refundable deposit of £10 is needed to secure your place. Bring a packed lunch or money for lunch.
The coach will leave Reading Mencap, 21 Alexandra Road, Reading RG1 PE at 11.30am and return at 7pm.
To book your place, please call 0118 966 2518 or email email@example.com
Support for Carers
We support carers mainly by helping them to address the problems they face in caring for their relative or child with a learning disability. Help from our Family Support Service with issues such as benefit claims, care assessments and reviews or anything else that is making life stressful for both the carer and the cared for is always available by contacting the office on 0118 9662518, Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 1.30pm.
We also provide a regular break from caring through our clubs for children, adults and siblings, this is an enjoyable experience for the club user themselves. We offer some specific events just for carers, which can be seen on this page, as well as events to share with the person cared for.
You can access this service on the phone, at our drop-in centre in Alexandra Road, Reading and in the home, if carers prefer, or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or use the 'Contact Us' page on this web site.
