BEAD - Berkshire Epilepsy Awareness Day

For carers and family members

This is a Berkshire-wide awareness day for parents and carers of people with learning disabilities who have epilepsy. 

Hosted by Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust, healthcare professionals will discuss what services are available and how to access them. Other organisations and companies will also be demonstrating their services and technology.

This event is free. Lunch and refreshment included.

Managing Difficult Behaviour in Children with Disabilities and Special Needs

Talk hosted by Reading Families' Forum for parent carers of children with disabled and special needs children. Lyn Oualah of Parenting Special Children will be giving a talk at 7pm on how to manage difficult behaviour. There will be qualified helpers on site to supervise your children so you will be free to listen to the talk. 

Entry is free. Light refreshments served. Siblings welcome.

Birth to Five: Free information workshop programme

Dingley's Promise, Kennet Walk Community Centre, Kenavon Drive, Reading RG1 3GD

Welcoming and informative sessions for parents and carers of children aged 0 - 5 who have additional needs. 

This session covers support and information:

  • Know about support services for you and your family
  • Know how to find support in your local area
  • Understand how to get support.

There are three other sessions in the programme.

  • Saturday 11 November: Building Parental Confidence
  • Saturday 18 November: Building Positive Behaviour
  • Saturday 25 November: Money Matters.
