Getting it Right in Reading

Getting it Right in Reading is a learning disability health project which aims to support people with learning disabilities access better health care.

The aims of the project are to:

  • To ensure people with learning disabilities are registered with their GP as having an LD
  • To ensure they get their annual health checks
  • To improve GPs' understanding of their need to make reasonable adjustments for people with learning disabilities

Don't Miss Out on Getting Better Healthcare dont miss out

National learning disability charity Mencap, in partnership with NHS England, has produced new animated videos called Don't Miss Out.

One stresses the importance of telling your GP you have a learning disability to get extra support and the other looks at what happens during an annual health checks.
