The annual Are You Listening? Music Festival

Reading Mencap has been the official charity partner of Are You Listening? since the first AYL music festival in 2013. In that time, the festival has raised over £34,000 for our charity. Thank you from AYL, Reading Mencap and everyone that supports us for all your help. Let’s make this year even better!

“We love what Reading Mencap does and stands for. Music knows no prejudice, no barriers and brings everyone together, whatever their background. And Reading Mencap does the same – ensuring we are all, irrespective of any learning disability, able to live full and active lives in our community. It deserves all our support. Please give whatever you can.” (Shane Daunt and Dave Maul, AYL Festival organisers)

Are You Listening? is a critically acclaimed popular music festival that takes place in Reading town centre every April across several bars, pubs, arts centres and a church! The festival aims to raise awareness and much needed funds for Reading Mencap while supporting the local music scene from the grassroots level. The 2016 event was attended by over 1,600 festival-goers who come to listen to more than 50 national and local acts. This year’s headliners include Spring King, The Big Moon, Huw Stephens and John Kennedy. See below for the full line-up (more acts to be announced).
