As part of our ASDAN work, the members go back in time to experience Reading's Rural past.
Our members had great fun at the Museum of English Rural Life (MERL), We got a chance to see how people lived in Reading over 200 years ago.
We saw how important horses were in farming & transport in the past, and how things were made by hand such as wheels, baskets and clothes.
As well as the evolution of steam engine technology, that gave rise to the Industrial Revolution.
We also got a chance to see the gardens at MERL, and the different plants, giving us inspiration for what we can possibly plant in our garden at back at Mencap.
