Crafts, cakes and champagne on offer at our Summer Fair!

Many thanks to everyone who attended on Saturday and helped to make it such a lovely afternoon.

Luckily, the rain held off and children were kept busy making Sand Pictures in the garden with Kids Bee Happy with Maddi and having their faces painted in beautiful glittery designs by Jade - quite a few adults were also spotted with rainbow faces!

Crafts including colourful ceramics, fluffy pom-poms and decorative tins made by members of Reading Mencap were also on sale along with an eclectic selection of bric-a-brac.

Splat a Rat brought out everyone’s competitive instinct – it’s a lot harder than it looks! A very big thank you to Berkshire Multiple Sclerosis Centre for donating it to us.

Once visitors had finished browsing tasty slices of quiche, spicy samosas and delicious cakes donated by Free Cakes for Kids could be enjoyed with a cup of tea. Hartland Fudge were also selling their super sweet treats to take home.

We’re extremely grateful to our Reading Mencap ambassadors for their sterling support and to everyone who helped out on the day – we couldn’t do it without you!

Raffle prizes included a giant teddy, champagne, cinema tickets, a vintage tea set and a handmade cushion. Thank you to Nibsy’s, E.C. Peasy Creations, Wellington Country Park, WOLF Italian Street Food, Birdworld Surrey and Hollywood Bowl Bracknell for donating prizes.

All the proceeds from the Fair go to Reading Mencap and enable us to support children and adults with learning disabilities.
